Parent Handbook (including Child Protection Policy)
We are pleased to present our 2019 Parent Handbook, which contains everything you need to know in order to start the academic year at the College. In addition to information on every aspect of College life and the wide variety of activities available on campus, the document also includes summaries of College policies on issues ranging from the acceptable use of the College computer network to Kashrut arrangements and Child Protection.
Mount Scopus Memorial College takes a zero tolerance approach to child physical and sexual abuse.
Forming part of the Parent Handbook, our Child Protection policy complements child protection legislation, and assists College leadership and staff in understanding how to avoid or better manage risky behaviours and situations.
The College Principal works with the President and Executive of the College Council to develop and maintain policies and procedures to ensure that all students, including those with a physical disability, are protected from the threat of such harm at any time while the students are in our care.
In implementing and monitoring the policy, the College Principal works to plan, implement and monitor arrangements to provide inclusive, safe and orderly school and other learning environments, and provide information and support to enable the protocols inculcated within the College's child protection policy and procedures to operate effectively. All staff, contractors, volunteers and any other member of the school community involved in child-related work are required to comply with the policy by observing stated expectations for appropriate behaviour.
