Academic Scholarships
Building on our legacy of excellence, we are proud to promote our Academic Scholarships, an initiative that acknowledges outstanding academic ability as our students journey through the College.
The Scholarship Offering
A limited number of Academic Scholarships will be awarded to students entering Year 5, 7 and 9 in 2028.
Each Scholarship provides:
- $13,000 per annum towards tuition fees
- The duration of each Scholarship is listed below:
- Year 5 entry - valid from Years 5 to 8 ( inclusive)
- Year 7 entry - valid from Years 7 to 12 ( inclusive)
- Year 9 entry - valid from Years 9 to 12 ( inclusive)
- Open to both current Mount Scopus and prospective new students.
Selection Criteria
Applicants will be required to sit an externally administered examination to identify students with high academic ability.
Applicants must also:
- Uphold the values and mission of our College
- Display strong menschlichkeit (good character, integrity and honour)

Both current Mount Scopus students and prospective students looking to join the College are welcome to apply for entry into Year 5, Year 7 or Year 9 in 2028.
Students applying for entry in 2028 will be in Years 4, 6 and 8 in 2027. Registrations open in early October 2026.
Those who complete the expression of interest will be contacted with full details.
The exam takes place in February 2027. The exam will be held at Mount Scopus, Gandel campus in Burwood.

Shortlisted external candidates are invited to interview with the Principal, with final offers issued no later than mid-March. The normal enrolment process still applies prior to a place being confirmed.
Successful internal students will be contacted by the college no later than mid-March.
Unsuccessful candidates will also be notified at this time.
A limited number of Scholarships are awarded annually across the three entry year levels.
Each Scholarship provides $13,000 per annum towards tuition fees, for the duration of the award.
Selection is based on performance in our externally administered academic exam. External applicants will also be required to go through our usual enrolment process which includes providing their two most recent academic reports, most recent NAPLAN report, and to attend an interview with the Principal. Selection of students to be awarded a scholarship is entirely at the discretion of the College.

Scholarship recipients are expected to maintain strong academic standards and to support the College's ethos and values throughout their time at Mount Scopus as outlined in the terms and conditions that will be provided to scholarship applicants.
Under certain circumstances, if supporting medical evidence is provided, adjusted testing conditions may be arranged for applicants with injuries or disabilities.
